Welcome to the 2017/2018 school year! I am very excited to begin my 16th year as a 3rd grade teacher. We have been working very hard to prepare for the return of our wonderful students. We have set very high expectations and made plans to guarantee that every student will be successful this school year. I am very excited about having your child in our class. I hope to work together to make this an exceptionally good year.
Student success is the main goal of every staff member at Kirbyville Elementary. I ask for your support and participation in this effort by sending your child to school every day, encouraging your child to read every day, monitoring their grades and homework, and asking your child to share what they learned at school each day.
The first few days of school will be a little stressful for your child due to all the excitement of being back and being in a new environment. Please talk to your child to help ease their anxiety by reassuring them that school is a fun and safe place to learn.
My conference time is 12:10 – 1:10 each day. Please call the office or send a note at least one day in advance if you would like to schedule a conference. Please feel free to call if you have any questions or have information that would help me work with your child. It is important that we communicate to better understand each student. Parental involvement is very important to your child’s success.
I greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding while kicking off the school year. I am looking forward to a great year!
